The first memories of the term "cottage", I remember my mother saying "one day, I'm gonna have my own little white cottage." "You know", she would say, "that's all anyone really needs!" "White" being a keyword here because every woman of my mom's generation, the babyboomers, speaks mystically of that white sofa, the beautiful white carpet in the living room, that white picket fence and of course, Jackie O's white sunglasses. So it only stands to reason that in my life. I have been drawn to the uniqueness of cottages everywhere. A cottage is an essential part of living a lifestyle that has been handed down to us by generations of woman. Things that are lasting, be it furniture, art, quilts, rugs or clothing have a great appeal to me. In a world in which home furnishings are mass-produced, I have tried to bring to my customers handmade furniture, simple and easy-to-care-for upholstery, only washable and no-XXXXXXX linens, original art, retro appliances and difficult-to-find, non mass-produced items. Enjoy!
